Early life in the Pilbara

 

Sue Golding, Vice Chair of Geological Society of Australian, Queensland
Division, will present and engaging talk on 'Evidence for early life
some 3.5 to 3.2 billion years ago in the Pilbara region, Western
Australia'. 

 

Associate Professor Sue Golding is Director of the Stable Isotope
Geochemistry Laboratory at the University of Queensland. She has a long
standing interest in the early evolution of the Earth and has used
observational and micro-analytical methods to identify microbial remains
in some of the oldest preserved organic matter on Earth. This work
undertaken with UQ colleagues has attracted world wide interest when
first reported in 2007.
