Bush tucker futures: Feast or Famine?
A special National Science Week event with the legendary Bush Tucker Man, Les Hiddens, in discussion with native food experts Jim Gruber (Ironbark Café) and George Wilson (Australian Wildlife Services).
Should Australia cultivate native food? Kangaroo steaks, crocodile kebabs, warrigal greens' salad, Kakadu plum jam - will they ever hit the big time, or will our exotic native foods always remain a novelty act?
Come and hear experts debate the sustainability, marketability and palatability of our native foods, and ask your own questions.
Hosted in inimitable style by the ABC's own Bernie Hobbs (New Inventors) and Paul Willis (Catalyst).
Free bush tucker tastings from the Ironbark Café and great door prizes.
Sunday August 17, 2-4pm.

131 City Walk, Canberra City.
