Harmonious revolutions: Galileo and the Music of the Spheres
Live early-music multimedia for the 2009 International Year of  
Astronomy.

6.30pm Thursday August 20th, 2009

Revel in the exquisite acoustics of the Elizabeth Bay House saloon  
under a canopy of projected constellations, with two of Australia's  
star performers of Italian Renaissance and Baroque music. Contemplate  
Galileo's heliocentric world view and the Pythagorean concept of `the  
music of the spheres' with Socratic dialogues, wallow in lush music  
from the birth of Italian Opera, by Caccini, Cavalieri, Malvezzi,  
Kapsperger, Boesset, M. and V. Galilei. Includes refreshments.
