This may not be directly related to those on the list, but I would
appreciate if you could circulate amongst young people that you know or
those who may have contact with young people.

Thanks,

Vanessa

Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention applications now open

Ever had a great idea for a business or invention but didn't know what
to do with it? Questacon is looking for young Australians with bright
ideas to attend the Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention 2009. The
Questacon Smart Moves Invention Convention is an intensive week-long
program that brings together 30 innovative and entrepreneurial young
Australian secondary students for an all-expenses paid trip to Canberra.
14 year old Wagga Wagga student Rachel Latimer's innovative girth
tightening device for horse saddles called 'Easy Girth' earned her a
spot at the Invention Convention 2008. During ABC1's The New Inventors
grand final Rachel was named the 2008 winner of The Young Inventors'
Bright Spark Award.

The Invention Convention is open to all Australian secondary students
aged 14-18. Applications close Monday 16 March 2009.
