Audience Development is about improving services for regular visitors and ta
king action to reach out to new people. It is about giving a wider range of
people the opportunity to improve their understanding, knowledge and
appreciation of museum collections. The seminar will address the keys and
strategies for sustainable audience development.

Speakers include:

Science Matters: Collections, Research & the Public

Come and hear how science collections have been used to cultivate a greater
understanding of our world in this Science Week event for the museums
sector. Brian

Looker and Dr David Pemberton will construct and discuss dioramas and their
role in contemporary museum presentation. Chris Krishna-Pillay advocates
science education

through theatre performance and will explain why it engages museum
audiences. Dr Josephine Milne will tell us about travelling science
exhibitions, and Suzanne Davies

will share how contemporary artists have interpreted scientific concepts.
