Science Matters: Collections, Research & The Public
Science Week Seminar
Friday 21 August 2009 from 9.30am –5pm
Treetops function room, Level 1, Melbourne Museum, Carlton Gardens,

Come and hear how science collections have been used to cultivate a greater
understanding of our world in this Science Week event for the museums
sector. Brian Looker and Dr David Pemberton will construct and discuss
dioramas and their role in contemporary museum presentation. Chris
Krishna-Pillay advocates science education through theatre performance and
will explain why it engages museum audiences. Dr Josephine Milne will tell
us about travelling science exhibitions, and Suzanne Davies will share how
contemporary artists have interpreted scientific concepts.

This event has been made possible by a partnership between Museums Australia
(Victoria) and Museum Victoria.
Museums Australia (Victoria) is supported by the Victorian Government
through Arts Victoria.
