AccessNano Professional Development: Helping bring nanotechnology to the classroom.

A workshop for teachers who want to introduce and develop nanotechnology in science studies - AccessNano provides easily-implemented modules that introduce nanoscience by providing Australian examples of nanotechnology research and applications. Resources include introductory modules for years 7-8, flexible modules for year 10 and a unit for senior chemistry. Modules include classroom presentations, experiments, activities, multimedia and teacher guides.

Presented by Francesca Calati, winner of the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Science Teaching, this session will provide a guided tour to the AccessNano website and provide advice for teachers wishing to introduce and develop nanotechnology in science studies.

AccessNano is a national nanotechnology school resource based on the Victorian SHINE program and developed with Bridge8 for the Australian Office of Nanotechnology.

The ACT seminar will be held at CSIRO Discovery Centre on June 16, 9am to 3.30pm, cost is $30. To book call the Discovery Centre on 6246 5296
