How To Make, Or Influence, A Million With Science
 
The Australian Science Festival¹s headline event is on Wednesday, May 27 at
6.30pm ­ FREE at the National Convention Centre ­ All welcome.
 
How To Make, Or Influence, A Million With Science has gathered some of
Australia¹s most distinguished scientists. ABC Radio National¹s Robyn
Williams will interview Fiona Wood, Ian Frazer, Penny Sackett, Bill Mobbs
and Alan Finkel  about their contribution to science and how they have
influenced millions of people  through their work and in some cases made
millions out of it.  Some have worked as researchers for the greater good
and some have grown global companies and made money out of their work and
passion for science.

Chief Scientist of Australia Penny Sackett, Fiona Wood who is renowned for
her world-leading research and breakthroughs in the treatment of burns,
neuroscientist and co-founder of Cosmos magazine Alan Finkel, Bill Mobbs who
founded a $40 million medical devices company and Ian Frazer who developed
the cervical cancer vaccine.
 
Australian Science Festival Executive Director Mary-Anne Waldren says this
event really showcases how important science is for the future and if you
can commercialize it, everyone can benefit.

This event is FREE and all are welcome.

Wednesday, May 27, 6.30pm
Royal Theatre, National Convention Centre, Canberra
Tickets are free. Bookings not required.
