CSIRO Education is seeking an energetic and motivated Education Officer to join the team at the CSIRO Science Education Centre in North Ryde.
You will have the opportunity to use your strong communication and presentation skills to develop, deliver and maintain innovative science programs aimed at the school and the wider community.  You will have strong communication and presentation skills. A teaching qualification and/or equivalent experience in science communication would be expected. You will also need to have a good knowledge of science. One full time position and one part time position are available

Key Result Areas/Duties:

 *   Deliver outstanding science presentations to school children and public audiences throughout metropolitan and regional areas.
 *   Conduct hands-on science classes for children from Year Kinder to Year 12.
 *   Take a role in the development and maintenance and ongoing improvement of the centres travelling programs, including teacher resources.
 *   Present professional development sessions to teachers, at workshops and conferences when required.
 *   Take a role in other CSIRO Education programs such as Double Helix Science Club events and holiday programs, Cutting Edge lectures, CREST.
 *   Support the programs at the Centre by general administrative (updating webpage, marketing and promotion, and liaising with schools), cleaning and tidying tasks as required.
 *   Travel to regional areas of NSW when required.
 *   Be available to work on some weekends such as travel to regional areas, presentations at public events (eg Royal Easter Show), and presentations at teacher conferences.
 *   Contribute to the effective functioning of the CEd Education Centre in delivering the key goals.
