TERN Communication Officer - Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN)

TERN was established in 2009 as one of the 12 priority areas of investment
under the Commonwealth Government’s National Collaborative Research
Infrastructure Strategy. TERN and its Australian Centre for Ecological
Analysis and Synthesis (ACEAS) Facility is hosted by the University of
Queensland and coordinated through a consortium of partner organisations.

The successful appointee will provide key input to the development and
implementation of communications and interaction strategies for TERN and
ACEAS, and the national ecosystem science and management communities. A key
function of the position will be the ability to build and maintain working
relationships between research collaborators and the TERN management team.

The appointee will work with each of the TERN Facility operators and in
consultation with TERN consortium partners to develop and implement a
communications strategy for the effective engagement of researchers both
within and external to the TERN, and be responsible for the maintenance of
the TERN and ACEAS websites.

The person should possess a degree in communications, public relations, or a
related discipline with subsequent relevant work experience, or an
equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Applicants should have broad experience in communications, including
contribution to development of communications strategies, in a complex
service-delivery industry. The position will work as part of a small team,
have good interpersonal skills and have comprehensive experience in using
computer applications, including website maintenance.

Remuneration The remuneration package will be in the range $57,154 – $61,589
p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will
be in the range $66,871 - $72,059 p.a.). This is a full-time, fixed term
appointment for three years at HEW Level 6.
