Just a reminder to Sydney-based members that this event is taking place
tomorrow night - it's lining up to be a great event, so hope you can

Discover the SKA: the World's Biggest Telescope - in our backyard?


Sydney Observatory, Watson Road, The Rocks, Sydney

28 April 2011, 5:30pm - 9:00pm 

(Guest speakers begin at 6:30pm) 


The proposed Square Kilometre Array radio telescope is set to
revolutionise our understanding of the universe. 


Join astronomer and broadcaster Professor Fred Watson (Australian
Astronomical Observatory) and Australian Laureate Fellow, Professor
Bryan Gaensler (University of Sydney) to hear the latest about the SKA
project, its amazing discovery potential and why Australia and New
Zealand is a great place to host it. 


Costs: $22 Adults, $18 Concessions, Students $18 (children must be
accompanied by an adult) PHM Members: $20 Adults, $16 Concessions.

Ticket price includes entry to the observatory, telescope viewing and

This event is part of the Discover SKA public awareness campaign,

Scitech and the WA Department of Commerce.
