[ASC-list] Winner of free pass to Science Communicator Officers forum

Dear ASC members,


We received several very worthy submissions from ASC members for the free
pass to attend Liquid Learning's 2nd annual National Science Communication
Officers forum 2011, 23-24 August in Sydney. It was not easy to decide who
should be awarded the pass. Each submission had much merit and it was clear
that each person would gain from attending the forum.


The ASC Executive is pleased to announce that the winner of the ASC's free
pass is Alicia Hurkmans, a student member of the ASC SA branch. Alicia is
the founding President of the Young Scientist of Australia, Adelaide Chapter


Her 25 word submission was:

I've founded a youth science organisation and believe this forum would
expand our knowledge, networks and science communication skills. It would
present a valuable opportunity to further our promotion of science to the
