Jacqui Kennedy, Manager of Visitor Services at the Botanical Gardens and Parks Authority, will talk about the many forms of interpretation Kings Park uses to engage
visitors. She will focus in particular on Kings Park's interpretive signage strategy and how interpretive signs can follow a formula to produce signs en masse. These signs have generated interest worldwide and have become the benchmark for signage in botanic gardens. Dr Stephen Hopper, the then CEO of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, and now the Director Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, was the main instigator for these signs and many of the interpretive artworks throughout the Park. Jacqui will bring the Kings Park Style Guide and folios with examples of the signage for us to see.
