*Communication Manager based at Plant Industry in Canberra*

*The Position: *
We are seeking a highly motivated Communication Manager to be responsible
for leadership and management, implementing the external and internal
communication strategies for the Division of Plant Industry, and for CSIRO
more widely at the Group and Enterprise Level. This role will involve
development and implementation of effective communication strategies and
activities to promote CSIRO's contribution to Australia in line with
Divisional and wider CSIRO objectives; provision of expert and timely advice
to Senior CSIRO Scientists and Management; and leading, managing, and
developing the PI communication team.

*Specifically you will:*

   - Lead and manage the Plant Industry communication team to achieve
   Division, Group and Enterprise goals, and promote CSIRO in external forums.
   - Contribute to Plant Industry’s strategic decisions and align the
   strategies and goals of the communication function to broader Division,
   Group and Enterprise strategic objectives.
   - Provide specialist communication advice and assistance to the Division
   and Group leadership teams, including advice on sensitive issues and crisis
   management, and lead high impact promotional campaigns.


*Location:* Black Mountain, ACT

*Salary:* $86K to $93K plus up to 15.4% Superannuation

To be successful you will have :*


   - Demonstrated ability to deliver Communication leadership gained through
   relevant experience and/or tertiary qualifications in communications,
   marketing, journalism or a related field.
   - Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in areas such as media
   relations, government affairs, strategic communication development and
   execution, or complex issues management.
   - Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior
   management and key internal and external stakeholders while effectively
   leading, coaching, mentoring and delivering results through a local
   communications team, and across internal boundaries.

*Communication Manager based at Food Futures Flagship in Sydney*
The Communication Manager role is responsible for developing, managing and
delivering communication and marketing strategies and activities that
support the Food Futures Flagship’s scientific and commercial goals, and
integrating these activities with CSIRO’s wider strategy at the Group and
Enterprise Level. The role deals with complex and sensitive issues in a
domain of great public and political interest, requiring expertise in issues
management and stakeholder relations.

Specifically you will*


   - Work with the Flagship’s Director and Theme Leaders to develop
   communication plans that support the Food Futures Flagship.
   - Play a pivotal role in the Flagship’s strategic marketing and
   communication strategy and implementation and ensure alignment of the goals
   and strategies of the Flagship with CSIRO's broader strategic goals.
   - Develop proactive media strategies and respond to media enquiries and
   opportunities, establish and maintain relationships with key journalists and
   their publications, organise promotional events and oversee the development
   of promotional materials.



*Location: *North Ryde, NSW

*Salary: *$99K to $116K (plus up to 15.4% superannuation)

   - A high level of literacy and editorial skills with experience in
   editing and writing on technical breakthroughs and research outcomes for a
   wide range of communication vehicles, including information and presentation
   materials for internal and external audiences.
