Hi Niall
OK, OK - you have sweet-talked me into the $900 'Velcro compatible
board' (sounds lovely!)
Please can you put Biotext down for one.
It was nice to see Sarah at the marine science comm. workshop a couple
of weeks ago - she was a great facilitator. And great to hear that your
new office has worked out well.
Let me know how to pay for the display space - and I look forward to
catching up at the conference.
Cheers
Janet

Dear ASC members,
The ASC conference is nearly upon us.
We've been working to bring in sponsors - and major organisations such
as CSIRO, DIISRTE, ANSTO, Geoscience Australia, UTS, ABC, CPAS and
others are supporting the conference.
But it dawned on me that the conference isn't giving the small
businesses involved in the space an opportunity to have a shopfront and
to be seen to be supporting the ASC community. The entry point for our
sponsorship products is a bit too high for small businesses. Booths cost
$5,000.
So the ASC is setting up a 'suppliers' space in the exhibition and
catering area which will allow you to showcase your best projects and
publications in a smaller space.
We're offering a 1.8 metre x 1.2 metre display Velcro compatible board.
You can use the board space, or put your own pull up banner in front of
it. The cost is $900 plus GST.
This conference will have a large representation of the people who
collaborate and/or buy the services we each provide.
If several of us take a space then the display will demonstrate how
science communication in Australia is growing up, professionalising, and
that there are numerous specialist science communication businesses
providing useful services.
Science in Public has already committed to a booth. Some other
sponsorship options are also still available.
Together, it'll be a great way to highlight a growing community to
potential clients.
If you're interested in taking up this offer please let me know.
