& Research Committee positions 2012 - please circulate

Dear Colleagues

I am hoping that you might be able to pass this information on to any
artists or post graduate students who are connecting with art and
science or add to your electronic noticeboards.

I am finishing the CAW 2012 Annual Program including residencies and
exhibitions - we have a few lined up but have

opportunities for a few more offering studio space and an exhibition and
opportunities for public talks.

INVITATION

2012 Culture at Work Art & Science Residencies.

Culture at Work is a not for profit Australian Research Institute based
in Pyrmont in the former Object: Australian Centre for Craft and Design

international studios. The building is a series of heritages cottages
with a large project studio in the centre and a smaller exhibition
gallery space.

There is an outdoor courtyard at the front and a larger outdoor
courtyard at the rear of the building.

Successful artists are offered 3 6 or 9 month residencies with an
exhibition in the gallery which is now called ACCELERATOR: a space where
art and science collide.

There is a small contribution to be paid by artists of $100 per month
toward internet access and utilities for the duration of the residency,
a 2 week exhibition is offered

as part of the residency with a 20% donation to Culture at Work if the
show is commercial.

Artists have the opportunity to give public talks on their work, to
connect with scientists if they are not already collaborating and to
deliver a workshop to

the State Street Teen Art Science program which is held on Saturdays.

Artists at Culture at Work have been working with the Garvan Institute,
The National Breast Cancer Foundation, The School of Physics at Sydney
University

and the Queensland Brain Institute.
