The workshop
We all want to do it, some of us attempt to do it, but how many of us evaluate our communication activities effectively?

When it comes to our public engagement and communication activities, evaluation is often a last minute thought, done poorly or in a way that doesn't align with your objectives.

This hands-on workshop will take you one step beyond the evaluation basics and get you started on ways to produce meaningful evaluation data. So bring your own case studies and events that you would like to or wished you had evaluated. You will get a chance to scrutinise your objectives, work out how to align your objectives with what you are trying to evaluate, and consider what evaluation tools and techniques will work for your project.

The Presenter
Cobi Smith is a PhD candidate at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), as well as Science in Society Facilitator at the Royal Institution of Australia. She has recently returned from science communication evaluation workshops in the UK, including the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement's (NCCPE) Evaluation Masterclass. Cobi has drawn on the UK Masterclass to develop this workshop for the needs of Australian Science Communicators.
