Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre presents:


22 June 2012, Questacon @ 6 pm

Questacon will open its doors for SciNight an evening of Music and Sound on Friday 22 June, between 6 pm and 10 pm. 

Music is the theme of the night with plenty of activities exploring the science behind the sound. 

Questacon becomes a kid free zone enabling you to inspire your inner scientist without being judged by a 12 year old.

Activities will include:

*Performances by Mal Webb a multi-instrumentalist, vocal adventurer 

*A Silent Disco for your ears only with eight local DJs and special guests

*Instrumental as Anything performed in the Japan Theatre by the Excited Particles

*Music busking

*Mega Bites Bar and Café patio from 6.00 pm

*Q Lab bar

*Q Shop open

Program details:

Japan Theatre

The Excited Particles.

Instrumental As Anything - The Music Show.

The Excited Particles tune into the science behind the sounds. It's fun, it's interactive and will provide you with some trivia to show off to your friends.

Session times 6.20 pm and 8.00 pm.

Japan Theatre

Mal Web.

Vocal techniques, sonic manipulation and the possibilities of the human voice.

Mal Webb is a multi-instrumentalist, vocal adventurer and looping beatboxer songsmith. Mal is in demand across the world and consistently delivers a show that will have you scratching your head, laughing out loud and trying new vocal styling's in the shower the following morning.

Session times 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm.

Silent Disco

Be judged on your dancing and not your taste in music

8 local DJs will be spinning discs at Questacon's first silent disco. 8 Musical styles will be represented across the musical spectrum from Latin through to dubstep.

6.00 pm Faux Real & Ashley Feraude

7.00 pm DJ Rush & Princi

8.00 pm DJ Rush & Jared De'veer

9.00 pm Songz & Skin & Bones

Session times 6.00 pm till 10.00 pm with two channels.

Additionally the Shell Questacon Science Circus will be performing science demonstrations and the Excited Particles will be busking throughout the centre.

* Tickets are available at Questacon from 6 pm on the night.

* Tickets are $10 or $5 for Q Club Members

* This is a licensed event with no entry for people under the age of 18
