Bookings go on-line for the transit of Venus today  ( 20 March)  at

Numbers are limited for viewing at Sydney Observatory on 6 June 2012 for
the last Venus Transit for 105 years.  Find out more:

You will be asked to make pre-payment with your credit card for all
tickets.  The best way to ensure you get a ticket is to use the on-line
system and only phone if you have problems with your booking.  
 
1. Sydney Observatory will be projecting first, second, third and fourth
contact.
2. There are limited passes for the entire day. These are called 'All
Day Ticket'.
3. Most tickets are for sessions. This is to maximise the number of
people who can view the event from Sydney Observatory.  
 
The sessions are :
7:30am to 9:30am
10am to 12:30 pm 
1pm to 3pm.
 
The cost of the tickets is: 
Cost: $36 adults, $28 child,
$30 Powerhouse member adults, $26.00 Powerhouse member child, 
 
There  also   is a category that is ONLY for schools to book attendance
at a session.  ( prepaid only on 99213485)
 
 There are many events in the lead-up to the transit of Venus, including
a talk by Nick Lomb and also a special lecture by Clive Ruggles

 As an exercise for the historic astronomers you can   have a go  on
the on-line interactive to test your skill at observing and logging the
transit before the event
