As a research psychologist with
a career in government, Carmen
Lawrence has unique experience
at the interface of science,
communication and policy.  Her
public roles included Premier
of Western Australia, national
Member for Fremantle and
President of the Labor Party.

Since retiring from politics in
2007, Professor Lawrence has
helped create the UWA Centre
for the Study of Social Change.
She studies the forces driving
social change around issues
such as energy use, as well as
people's reactions to that
change.
