It's a bit of a drive from Melbourne but the CO2CRC Otway Project at
Nirranda South is holding an Open Day on Saturday 20 October from
10.00am to 3.30pm.

The Otway Project has been safely storing carbon dioxide deep
underground since 2008, as part of internationally acknowledged research
into geological CO2 storage.

The Open Day is an opportunity to see the project site, meet some of the
scientists and hear more about carbon capture and storage, and how it
can help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Visitors will be able to see rock samples from two kilometres
underground, hear more about the extensive monitoring program and find
out what carbon dioxide storage has in common with chocolate bars. There
will be a free sausage sizzle between 12.00 and 2.00pm.

Saturday 20 October 2012, 10.00am - 3.30pm

Brumbys Lane, Nirranda South (off the Great Ocean Road near the Nirranda

Guided tours of the Otway Project site 11.00am & 2.00pm - please book by
