See a post by Wendy Russell to the Conversation article that was discussed here last week about the need to talk about science more thoughtfully:
http://theconversation.com/we-need-to-talk-about-science-just-more-thoughtfully-21336#comment_277239

Wendy formerly worked in the National Enabling Techonology Strategy - Public Awareness and Community Engagement (NETS-PACE) program at the department of industry etc that was the subject of the review discussed in the Conversation article. She was also the initiator and manager of the STEP (Science & Technology Engagement Pathways) program that I mentioned in my earlier post.

Hi all,
just a reminder that today is the deadline for expressions of interest for anyone wishing to present their work as a poster at the ASC conference in February.

To sign up, simply log in to the ASC Conference Presenter's Portal<http://www.eventspro.net/eventcorp/cm.esp?id=7410009&pageid=_3U20JTARJ&showpage=login&src=eiscript&cd=1097154129> (or create an account if it's your first time) and submit you expression of interest by the end of today. Poster guidelines are available here<http://2014conf.asc.asn.au/poster-guidelines/> and if you have any questions please send an email to me at asc.treasurer2012 at gmail.com<mailto:asc.treasurer2012 at gmail.com>.

Thanks
Pete

P.s If you're interested in having a poster, we don't need much from you at this point, just your name, organisation you're affiliated with (if you have one), a poster title and summary. The Presenter's Portal captures all of this.

Hi all,
there's less than a week to go to express interest in having a poster at the conference in Brisbane.

If you'd like to show off your work in this way then all we need from you at this point is a few detail about what it might be about and who you are.

This is a great way to communicate your work and meet others working in overlapping areas. Posters will be on display throughout the conference and we?ll have a dedicated session in the program for you to present your work and take questions.

To sign up, login to your ASC Conference Presenters Portal<http://www.eventspro.net/eventcorp/cm.esp?id=7410009&pageid=_3U20JTARJ&showpage=login&src=eiscript&cd=1097154129> (or create an account if it's your first time) and express your interest before COB Tuesday December 17th. Poster guidelines are available here<http://2014conf.asc.asn.au/poster-guidelines/> and if you have any questions please send an email to me at asc.treasurer2012 at gmail.com<mailto:asc.treasurer2012 at gmail.com>.

We?ll do our best to let you know by Friday December 20th if you've been successful, giving you plenty of time to work on your poster.

Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested in promoting there work in this way. Thank you!

Regards
Pete
