Science communicators,

Want to help develop the next generation of science graduates? You may have the right skill set ...

A local university is looking for TUTORS for a first-year subject in 'scientific literacy'. Classes start this month!

The subject addresses the professional skills and insights that a science graduate needs. It provides a well conceived transition to university study
for students who may be the first in their family to attend university.

We are looking for expressions of interest from individuals who have a demonstrated capacity to tutor at the first-year level at university. You
would need to be experienced at working in a facilitation role, rather than a presenting role. A background in science (particularly the life sciences)
and insight into the mechanics of writing, presenting, and teamwork are also required.

The commitment would be to facilitate at least two, 2-hour tutorials per week for the period of February to June 2013. Classes occur in Parramatta,
Campbelltown, and the Penrith area. Additional planning, training, and coordination meetings would occur in certain weeks. Marking is also
involved.

Please send expressions of interest to me by Friday, 15 February 2013.

An expression of interest is just that, not a commitment and not an application.

Also, please pass on word to friends and colleagues (or even enemies) who might be interested. Thanks.

Will
