[ASC-list] Free Sydney Event: Professor Iain Stewart receives inaugural UNSW Medal for Science Communication and gives Scientia Lecture

UNSW Science is pleased to announce:
The inaugural Scientia Lecture and UNSW Medal for Science Communication
The first recipient of the medal will be Scottish geologist and BBC TV documentary presenter Professor Iain Stewart of Rise of the Continents fame.
You are invited to come along at 6 pm on Friday 11 July at UNSW in Sydney to hear Iain deliver the Scientia Lecture on the topic: 50 Shades of Grey - Communicating Rocks.
The event will be chaired by science journalist and ABC broadcaster Robyn Williams.
UNSW Dean of Science, Professor Merlin Crossley, established the annual medal and lecture to recognise excellence in the public communication of science.
The award honours individuals who have shared their knowledge and scientific insights with a broad audience - informing, inspiring and engaging the public on science topics and issues.
When: 6.00 - 7.30 pm Friday 11 July, 2014
What: Medal presentation and Scientia Lecture delivered by Professor Iain Stewart on the topic: 50 Shades of Grey - communicating rocks
Where: Scientia Building, UNSW, Kensington.
Cost: Free but registration required
