Where does science communication end and science journalism start? Are they
inclusive, or are science journalists a breed apart from science
communicators?

Come along to this panel event to hear ABC Science editor and journalist Dr
Anna Salleh, Regional Executive Editor at Nature Publishing Group Stephen
Pincock, media/communications manager for the UNSW Faculty of Science
Deborah Smith, and Sydney Morning Herald science editor Nicky Phillips
debate the complex intersection between science journalism and science
communication, the rise of branded and native content, the ethical
challenges for writers working in this space, and what this means for
science journalism in the future.

Whether you define yourself as a science journalist, a science
communicator, or some weird mutant love-child caught in their divorce
proceedings, this is a panel not to miss.

*When*: Wednesday 9 September, 6.30pm
*Where*: Sydney Mechanics' School of Art, Level 1, 280 Pitt St, Sydney
Cost: $10 for ASC members, $15 for non-members. Includes drinks, nibblies
and more riveting entertainment than someone with a weasel down their
trousers ... but also more clever.
