The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute is seeking a Media and Publications Manager to start early in 2016.
This is a senior role in
which you will manage a small team while developing, implementing and evaluating media relations and communications strategies that promote the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute's work in cancer, infectious diseases and immune disorders.
The role requires
strong project management and leadership skills, a flair for writing and
editing, and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
The successful candidate will have
a tertiary qualification in science or demonstrated background in biomedical
research promotion or a related area, along with qualifications and/or
experience in journalism or communications.
You will be a strategic thinker with exceptional motivation and demonstrated analytical and problem
This position is replacing
a staff member who is on maternity leave, and is available for 12 months.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Up to 17% superannuation and attractive salary packaging options are available.
