Biofortification: Nutrition for the World.
Seminar with Dr Howarth Bouis, 2016 World Food Prize Laureate

Biofortification is the process of using conventional plant breeding techniques to increase the density of critical vitamins and minerals in food crops, sufficient to impact human health and nutrition. Dr Howarth Bouis, the Director and Founder of HarvestPlus, is a 2016 Laureate of the World Food Prize for his pioneering work to end global hunger and malnutrition by developing micronutrient-rich crops through biofortification.

Known as the "Nobel Prize for Agriculture and Nutrition," the World Food Prize recognizes individuals who have improved the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world. The Waite is honoured to be hosting Dr Bouis when he visits Australia in August.

Join us for this special seminar, Friday August 19, 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm.  Charles Hawker Conference Centre, Charles Hawker Building, Waite Campus. Registration is free but required as seats are limited.
