Dear ASC-List,

Today's member guest is a freelance science journalist based in Hobart,
Australia. She's a regular contributor of features and news articles to
Cosmos Magazine, and her work has also been published in Science, Nature,
Nature Medicine, Smith Journal, ABC Health & Wellbeing, the Conversation,
Australasian Science Magazine, United Academics and others.

Her pieces have been selected for inclusion in the Best Australian Science
Writing 2014 and 2015 anthologies (NewSouth Books), as well as The
Explainer (CSIRO Publishing, 2013). Before moving to Hobart, she was a
regular co-host on Triple R’s Einstein-a-Go-Go science radio show in
Melbourne. She also worked as science and technology producer and host for
Up Close, the University of Melbourne’s podcast. Like many science writers,
she is an ex-lab rat – she has a PhD in plant genetics. She occasionally
tweets @dyanilewis. Join us online today to meet Dyani!
