SKA Information Officer

 * Pivotal role in the communication and community engagement surrounding the Square Kilometre Array project.
 * Be part of the world’s largest radio telescope project
 * Family friendly and flexible working environment

CSIRO is playing a lead role in the development of the world’s largest radio telescope, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), which will be co-located in Australia. The SKA will address fundamental unanswered questions about our Universe including how the first stars and galaxies formed after the big bang, how dark energy is accelerating the expansion of the Universe, the role of magnetism in the cosmos, the nature of gravity, and the search for life beyond Earth.

To support its engagement in SKA, CSIRO Astronomy & Space Science (CASS) is appointing an SKA Information Officer who will be responsible for ensuring the effective dissemination of CSIRO-related SKA and Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) information across the global astronomy community.

The SKA Information Officer role will ensure that the broader community are accurately briefed on the latest developments in CSIRO technology, CSIRO’s management of the Murchison Radioastronomy Observatory, commissioning activity for ASKAP and progress in the design and development of SKA, particularly SKA1-Low which will be built in Australia.

CASS is committed to adhering to family friendly policies and supports a flexible working environment. CASS is committed to increasing awareness, demonstrating best practice, and implementing initiatives to improve diversity within our workplace. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
