Some highlights from WCSJ2017

-- The WFSJ produced two workshops sponsored by the Reseach Council UK<https://wfsj.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a8d11a901ac032467f5aed649&id=73428a93d9&e=17f3c4f422>. The first, "Feeding the World Achieving Sustainable Agriculture" and the second "Emerging Infectious Diseases: Post Zika in Latin America and the Caribbean." Read on our blog two testimonials on the workshops by Tran Thi Thuy Binh<https://wfsj.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a8d11a901ac032467f5aed649&id=ecf2696ee9&e=17f3c4f422> from Vietnam and Helen Mendes<https://wfsj.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a8d11a901ac032467f5aed649&id=6ef5638ecc&e=17f3c4f422> from Brazil.

-- A major topic at WCSJ2017 echoed by many sessions was the inequality and discrimination with regards to science done in the south. WFSJ Board Member, Wolfgang Goede, writes in his blog post<https://wfsj.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a8d11a901ac032467f5aed649&id=ea6328ab55&e=17f3c4f422> about these challenges and asks whether "there is something wrong with Northern science."
