Hi Canberra science communicators,



You're invited to attend the ACT Branch 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
at the RUC Turner Bowls Club, 54 McCaughey St, Turner ACT 2612 on Tuesday
28th November, 5.45pm.

The AGM is our annual opportunity to and look back over the past year as we
prepare for the next. Our current President, Treasurer and other committee
members will report of the happenings of 2023, and how this can inform our
future plans.

We strongly encourage all ACT members to attend this AGM. We also ask you
consider your networks and encourage any non-members to join the ASC and
attend. We are excited about what we may achieve in 2024, and want as many
as possible from the community involved - whether you're a researcher or
practitioner.

*Time and place*

5:45 pm arrival for a 6:00 pm start of meeting, Tuesday 28th November

Look for a booked table inside the Turner Bowls Club featuring a sign with
the ASC logo.

*Joining the committee*

The AGM is our annual opportunity to form the next year's committee who
will coordinate events and other engagements into 2024.

Even if you're new to the ASC, being a committee member is a fantastic way
to help shape what kinds of events are held supporting local members
through 2024. We encourage all ACT members to consider joining the
committee and invite you to reach out directly for more information about
the role that you could play in our volunteer organisation.

*The social side*

Surrounding the actual business of the AGM is a social opportunity to
connect with the other science communicators who are members of ASC in
Canberra. We will buy you a drink for attending the meeting, and will also
provide plenty of snacks for the group.

In addition, we shout our members to a social Barefoot Bowls game from
roughly 6:45 pm onwards. Give it a go, and get to know your fellow members.
