Hi everyone,

AstroMailbox, the new mailing list for UK astronomy/space communicators,
has nearly 150 subscribers already. Thanks to everyone who has joined! It's
looking like a nice mix of amateur astronomers, planetarians, academics,
learned societies, funders and others.

For anyone who missed the launch earlier this month, the list is for anyone
who gives astronomy talks in schools, presents public planetarium shows,
does space art sessions with Cubs, welcomes tourists to their observatory,
runs a school astronomy club, takes their telescope out to public places
... or anything else outside formal teaching.

We hope it will be a friendly, supportive space for sharing of skill,
resources, and stories. You can join us at

We'd appreciate help getting this news out, especially to academic and
industry astro-commers, who are probably the hardest to reach. There is a
flyer you can use if it helps - I can't attach it here but you can find it

AstroMailbox is a collaboration between the International Astronomical
Union Office of Astronomy Outreach by the UK National Outreach Coordinator
team, Jenny Shipway, Gemma Kerr, and James Fawcett; and Andy Newsam of
Liverpool John Moores University.
