An invitation to an event in Canberra
Heather Massie, an award-winning actress based in New York, has won a Fulbright Fellowship to tour her play HEDY! The Life & Inventions of Hedy Lamarr.
Her play celebrates Hedy as a Hollywood film actress and genius inventor. In the 1930s-50s Hedy was known as the most beautiful woman in the world, but her intellect was often overlooked. Hedy invented things in her spare time in Hollywood, and developed technology for torpedoes during WWII. The same technology launched today's wireless revolution and is used in our cell phones, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth.
Her play has toured 15 countries and won 28 awards.
Heather will be giving a talk at the ANU’s Centre for the Public Awareness of Science on Tuesday 27 August at 4pm. CPAS is located at Peter Baume Building, The Australian National University, #42A Linnaeus Way.
The play will be performed at The Street Theatre on Saturday 31 August, followed by panel discussion. Book at https://www.thestreet.org.au/your-visit/box-office-ticketing
