Call for Papers: Emotions and Science Communication
We invite you to contribute to a special issue on emotions and science communication in the Journal of Science Communication (JCOM).
Scope
We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
Emotional engagement in science communication
Emotional responses to science communication
Emotions in risk communication
Emotions as public practice in science communication
Representations of emotions in science media
Cross-cultural and intersectional perspectives on emotions and science communication
Ethical considerations in using emotions for science communication
The politics of emotion in science communication
Submissions
We invite:
Original research articles
Essays
Practice insights
Researchers, practitioners, and scholars from all relevant disciplines are encouraged to submit.
Important Dates
Deadline for abstracts: September 30, 2024
Authors informed of selection: November 30, 2024
Full manuscripts due: April 30, 2025
Expected publication: October/November 2025
